KARATE AUSTRALIA STRATEGIC PLAN 2025-2028

Building Australia into a World-Leading Karate Nation

Our Foundation: Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To unite and support Australia's state karate federations by providing leadership, governance, and resources that strengthen participation from grassroots to elite. We foster inclusive pathways for kids, communities, and athletes, deliver national programmes that build skills and character, and champion Australian karate on the world stage.

Our Vision 2028

To lead karate in Australia as the recognised national body that empowers state federations with the structure, visibility, and pathways to grow participation, strengthen community programmes, and inspire athletes. Our ambition is for Australia to be recognised as the premier karate nation in Oceania and a top-five global competitor, with a thriving, inclusive community of more than 30,000 members across 500+ clubs, and athletes proudly representing the nation on the Olympic stage.

The Opportunity: Why Now Matters

Brisbane 2032: Our Golden Moment

With Brisbane hosting the 2032 Olympics, we have an unprecedented opportunity to transform Australian karate. Government funding is available, public interest is growing, and the global spotlight will be on Australia. We must act decisively now to position karate for Olympic inclusion and national prominence.
